I'm putting together a mid range budget gaming rig, for about 1000$ give or take.
I've really only decided about the CPU and GPU, the rest I'm a little unsure of and need some help.

CPU
Intel E6600

GPU
ATI X1900GT 256mb

I still need info on a cheapish MoBo
and I know I need 2gb RAM, just not sure what kind, any help on the cheapest decent RAM would be great, Also if anyone could point me to a Power Supply that would be real helpful...

O I also have no idea where to start with picking out a case...

Thanks in advance...

i can only help u with the gpu..and im gonna tell u that the x1900gt isnt worth it, go for the x1800xt... at least i would, or go for the 7900gt, but not the x1900gt...i recommend the x1800xt because it allows u to enable AA + HDR at the same time, and the x1800xt will have a better image. and if u want to put a tad more u can get the x1800xt 512mb

Really go with the X1800XT or the X1900GT, The reason I was going for the ATI's over the Nvidia's,like you said was b/c you can turn on HDR and AA at once, I guess I just figured that the model above the X1800's would be better...I'm interested to learn more

If I were you I would go with the X1900XT now on Newegg for 325. It is the same/cheaper than an X1800XT 512Mb.

Good deal on Ram would be:

Power Supply:

As far as cases go I personally like Coolermaster. The Centurion 5 is a pretty good deal for around 50 bucks it's a decent case. But if you want something sturdy that will probably fit all your needs:

Or any case from Lian Li would be good.

the x1900GT is a card Ati squeezed onto the market to make sales. The card is terrible from what I've heard. Go with either the x1900xt or the x1800xt(depending on price) Either one will satisfy you, until the DX10 cards come out.

An older X850Xt is also a great choice. Plenty fast and looks great. Add a nice aftermarket fan and you're good to go. :)

You said your budget is around 1000$ish?

...the E6600 + X1800 XT is going to take 600-700$ dollars, a mobo, 100, ram, 200.

How are you going to fix it?

Fix it? Not sure what you mean, I got me a HD, Monitor, Soundcard, Speakers, etc so I just need the CPU + GPU = 700 RAM = 200 MOBO =100 PSU = 80 all in all it sounds right around my price range
