Ok, so my friend got a used shuttle sb77g5. came with 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512) a Prescott 3.4 Ghz (Pentium 4 550) and an ATi 9200.

he couldnt get it to post. When i went over to help him, i tried everything i know.

First i cleared CMOS, used the button, the jumper and the battery. Still didnt work.

Next i went to reseat everything. pulled out all the RAM, the GPU, all the HDD's and the optical drive. Still didnt work.

Swapped HDD's still didntwork.

Swapped PSU's still didnt work.

So i thought it may be the CPU, removed the heatsink, reapplied thermalpaste. CPU didnt look damaged.

Anyways, my problem.

When it turn it on all the fans spin, HDD spings, optical drive works, but nothing on the screen comes up.

Revised ecs gf8200
By RichieLA, 1 hour ago:

I don't know about the GF8200A but the A780GM-A CPU support list has been revised to include the 965BE, 955BE and 940BE (all 125W CPUs). I'd check with the GF8200A CPU support list on the ECS web site.
