Ahhh sweet, now I have something so pointless to put in my PC it won't make my PhysX card, FX62 and my Quad-SLi feel so stupid.

I wonder how long it is before Dell fit it to the new XPS?

well looks like you're the lucky fellow to get post 3000.

Look, there is nothing special about a NIC card. It takes packets it, parses the data - decrypts it, and then the computer can use it. Vice versa for going out.

Old NIC cards do have processors that helps reduce the CPU load like 3coms but cpu's are so fast now a days that the processor on a NIC card is useless.

That card won't do anything for you.

On top of that i wouldn't trust any card that isn't linksys or 3com. Linksys because its a department of Cisco.

edit: also if you need a robust NIC card get a 3com. No one makes better NIC's than 3com. I wouldnt trust some noname brand coming out with a "Killer NIC" card.

im shoor ur sli is fine  lol i posted this bit of info just to post new info  to be honest i find it quite funny that everyone lately (different comapnies) decided to create "modified"/special products "for gamers" - like the fatality mobos, or this for instance, i tnow that every bit helps in geting those frags/or whatever other points, but this is ...funny

Not a scam I think.

It's BS to say "A NIC is a NIC" - that just isn't true. It's like saying "all modems are the same" - when a true hardware modem is far superior to a winmodem, in terms of throughput AND ping times.

While it's unlikely a KIllerNIC is oging to drop your ping by more than single digits, every little bit counts, and so by optimising your display to reduce machine lag, optimising your network connection and optimising your ISP, you can achieve results which are quite impressive.

At one point, when I was gaming on a 56K, I managed, over a 3 months period of optimising and switching ISP, to drop my ping by 50ms and more. That's significant.

Eh... Most likely gonna be mostly useless like the PhysX card (Unless there a sudden huge support for PhysX). I'd imagine this -could- help your ping and gaming and what not, being that it has larger ability to properly decrypt your packets and properly handle them faster...

However...

It'll prolly cost, at the least, $150. And that's just not worth it... However, if they cater to the $50-$60 market... and they can prove an actual decent performance boost... I could see a viable niche market. Also being a wireless AP and acting with special server and router functions could actually make it worth in the range of +$100.

Don't hold your breath though :)

I'd pay at most $40 for a PCIe version.
