Policy updates keeping open sessions

I have a Win2k server that I recently upgraded to AD (single domain). I am
having an issue where the workstation names are showing up as active sessions
in the computer management mmc. They show up as "computername$" and the idle
time gets to 15 minutes before resetting to 00:00. It appears that the
workstations are doing policy updates because 15 minutes is the default and I
ran a packet sniffer on one of the workstations and saw some text regarding
policies. I have other servers that show the same station names with the "$"
but then disappear after a few seconds. I had to change the licensing mode
on this server because the licenses were being used up twice and then denying
anyone else. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

Mark,

If you are in per seat (or per device) licensing mode, the general
recommendation is to tern the license logging service off and disable it
completely.

There are a number of reasons that a workstation would associate with a
Domain controller in the course of regular use. Let us know if maintenance
of the actual sessions is the problem, or if disabling the License Logging
will resolve this for you.
