I am currently building a system. I am still at the bios stage and am following CPU and MB temp.

The cpu seems to be idling at 46 degrees celsius and MB at 40. We are currently enjoying a beautiful 33 degree celsius day. Is this acceptable? What are the normal idle and load temps for the CPUS

Any help will be appreciated!!

My Athlon XP 2000+ is currently at 56C, my mobo at 40 and my HDD at 50C. My room has no ventilation, which really sucks, my computer is like an oven here.

To answer your question, I think your temps are ok.

You should be fine. Motherboards are known to be notorious when it comes to temperature accuracy.

Those are good temps. I wouldn't worry. Above 60-70 is where you will have problems. Room temperature is 72 F, you're running at 114 F.

Yeah, that's why you don't automatically click the link. You wait for a tooltip or something that tells you where the link takes you, before you actually go there.

Well, he's been on the net for some time. Does he really need any more publicity?
