I'm planning a new rig based on the Intel 975xbx, which has an FSB of 533 / 800 / 1067 / 1333
After a lot of research, I'm trying to pick my RAM, and have 2 choices:
1) a DDR2 667 with timings of 3-3-3-10
or
2) a DDR2 800 with timings of 4-4-4-12
So basically one has the bandwidth advantage, and the other has the latency advantage.
Am I correct in saying that the 800mhz (vs 667) wont even matter with the FSB of 1333 unless I overclock? And if I do overclock, the 800mhz would be a better choice?
This is my first build, and I'd like to thank any posts ahead of time - I'd hate to hit that power button for the first time and not hear my baby purr. . .
