Problems with DNS on my network

I am attending a network with a PDC with Windows 2000 Server and BDC
with the same OS. IPS are 192.168.0.1 and 2.

Computers at workstations are running Windows 2000 Pro.

Our ISP tells us that the DNS addresses are 200.45.0.115 and
200.45.0.116 - but since we need computers to move around the network
resources, then we have set up on each workstation as primary DNS
servers the internal ones, 192.168.0.1 and 2, and in the DNS tab, the
two others in 3rd. and 4th. position.

I am having constant name resolution problems on the workstations, not
on the inside network but when browsing or sending / receiving email.

Remove the ISP supplied DNS addresses from the IP properties of every PC and
server and also from your DHCP scope. These addresses should only be
configured as forwarding addresses on your internal DNS servers, the two
DCs.

To add to Simon's good advice, check out these two docs. Also, make sure you
do NOT have the ISP provided dns addresses in the TCP/IP settings of your
servers. As a side bar, PDC and BDC do not apply to Windows 2000/3 domain
controllers. They use a multi-master model. However, for downlevel support,
the first domain controller installed has a role called PDC Emulator.
