definitely not. :)

Anyway, I'm going to build a new game rig (budget of $1500-1600 wit monitor and speakers), and gonna take a conroe on a ride wit a X1800 XT 512MB and 2 GB Corsair XMS DDR2 800.

Bottom Line: Wondering if I should get a E6600, or a E6400??? (please realate to budget)

(the L2 cache doesn't really matter, does it?....and how much multipliers do the new core duo2 have?)

thanks

PS. how long is Core Duo gonna stay? - I've heard some quirky news about it...

E6600.

It has more cache. You can always overclock, but if you buy a proc with less cache that's something that you cannot change.

Get the model with 2.4Ghz and 4Mb of cache for $315. Seems like the best bang for your buck, and it sounds like the only limit of oc'ing this thing is how good your cooling is. Get liquid cooling on it and you'd get that damn thing over 4ghz

I'd like to see how high you can take the 6600 on phase change refreigerant cooling...in Antarctica!

I don't believe I will OC, since the E6600 is fast nuff

ummmmm...my budget is 15-1600$.....unless you buy me one, I'm not gonna have the gold for a liquid cooling system...

also, to wolfman, I said the 315 w/e 316$ price was only if you mass purchased it...I'm probably sticking wit one. :)
