no conroe amd 4X4

I can see AMD's marketing now... Our FX might not be enough to kill Conroe, but can Conroe stand up to 4x4 for 4x the price!

Ya it will cost that is a given will the cost really be worth it. Most of us most likely have spent lots in the years of computers.

Intel will be releasing Conroe based quad core this year too... toss a coin.

I thought it was coming early 2007? Either way, 4x4 will be useless unless you're running a workstation/server and need 4 cores.

yes ...unless you use a graphic workstation or a server you will find no use for 4X cores ...especially if you are a gamer ...the difference between conore and AMD FX-62 is nothing when enabling high-res and maximum visuals (even though Conore is faster)..that's because games right now are GPU dependent ...except for few titles which benefit from high CPU power .( most RTS games ).

but who knows ...may be future games will act differently ?

4x4 performance will actually be pretty embarassing for a DP rig...

I agree with the xfire, its benches are really amazing xfire is really the way to go, that would have to be decided by xfire users and tell us what the setbacks in gaming and apps are if any.

The more I read about the 4x4 it sound awsome but so do all new hardware tec. Jeez I'm still in the 32 bit stuff
