OK this is my first build, so i'll need lots of reviews or comments about compatibility or what not ^^ . feel free to comment

CPU : Conroe E6400 or 6600 if i have money left over - $250 or 350ish

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Socket T - $150

RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 Model TWIN2X2048-6400 - Retail - 158

GPU: ATI Radeon X1800XT 256MB - $259

Sound Card: I need a suggestion, on which one is cheap but good ^^

Harddrives: Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 - $220

CASE: Aspire x-discovery - $60
PSU: Antec TRUEPOWERII 550W Power Supply - $90

Optic drives: need sum suggestions lol

k, i'm surpised you got that for $1300 american i'm guessing. anyway, looks good. That RAM looks good but extremly cheap, donno why. Um don't know anything about new intel stuff, so down to sound. The creative x-fi xtreme music is good and should be just over 100 us.

EDIT: don't get a raptor, get a WD se16 250gig, its cheaper and bigger.

DDR2 800 is has a mail-in rebate for 40 bucks, thats why is sounds cheap. System looks good to me. If you are gonna get a 10,000 rpm hard drive I would get the smallest one possible and put only your main programs and software on it. Then get two 160gig drives and put em in a raid setup.

oh yea u won't really need a sound card just yet. get one after recovering from buying a new rig.
