I got a 250gig USB acomdata hard drive about 4 months ago. It has run cool to the touch for the entire time untill now. It has no fan and says the tight fitting aluminum case disapates heat great. But it's never been so hot like it is now. I was wondering if cause it's summer that maybe the heat and humidity are being a issue. It's not near anything that could get it hot. Anyone have any ideas?

Most likely it is the increase in room temperature because it is Summer. You could buy a small $10 desk fan for it. You should have it standing up on its thin edge, not laying down flat.

I have the 80 GB version, but I only use it for about 5 minutes a day to store True Image backups.
