Hello all...found this site through a search and it looks like a great place for info and help. I have a Gateway model #4016 that has a 300W PS. I would like to add a graphics card, but don't think the PS will handle any upgrades. Will an ATX power supply fit in this case?? I have one in mind that i'll post here. Any comments and suggestions would be great.

This link is for the PS I would like to put in. Thanks for your help

I don't personnaly like ultra's, and as for most things you get what you pay for so....

If I was to buy a 600w psu I'd probably go with a better maker like Antec, Seasonic, Silverstone, OCZ or Enermax and spend at least $100.

The Antec 550w tp2 is $90 on newegg, probably the cheapest psu I'd consider.

Looks like a standard PS/2 size (full size) power supply. Read the power supply reviews at SysOpt, you'll find that Ultra (most recently reviewed) was the worst of any "performance" power supply tested. I usually recommend Fortron Source power supplies, you can get a 450W unit for around $40-50, or a 500W unit for around $60. FSP is a good brand that sells power supplies directly to distributors and large retailers, cutting cost, without the frivolous features that also add cost.

As for Ultra...well, they're just a Systemax brand, they don't actually make anything. What they do is ask a company to turn its $30 power supply into a $50 power supply by adding features like plug-in-cables, chrome finish, and lights...then they take on another $20 for themselves, then they tack on another $20 if you buy it from one of their distributors (like TigerDirect), or if you prefer to buy an Ultra from Newegg, they'll tack it on themselves. What you're left with is a very pretty $30 power supply.
