I am waiting for a review of all teh am2 mobos on toms to see what board I want as I picked my past board a msi 865 pe neo 2 based on the review it got on roms hardware. but anyoen have any feeback on these i am looking at these because of price and would love it if you could tell me if there are some good board I messsed with a decent pricetag.
I personally wouldn't deviate from the $200 Asus or Gigabyte nForce 590 boards. Thats the newest and best chipset you can get.
I particularly like the Gigabyte board with 6 SATA ports, 4 USB on the back, 6 on the board, and a backup BIOS in case you hose the first one by screwing up trying to flash it. Also, I believe those boards auto detect your RAM speed. The Gigabyte has 2 PCI-E 16x slots and I think a PCI-E 8x, unless it is another 16x. It has passive cooling compared to the Asus board which has active cooling, I think.
Those are the boards I'm looking into as Conroe won't come out fast enough for me before school starts.
I am holding out to build I ma saving up bit by bit and waiting for the "big" amd price drop... then I will make my purchases but I want to have everythngi picked out or my selections narrowed down to as few boards as possible but cna't find anything decent for am2 reviews jsut hte customer reviews...
i like what I read about the m2n-e . If you dont want sli and I dont care about sli..but its a new board you never know yet the only bad thing I have read is that the ram voltage only goes to 1.95 v. But if thats all thats wrong with it it should be fine.
