My dad has a 20gb Iomega peerless drive at work and needed to defragment it badly. Unfortunately, he could only defragment it if it was in the NFTS format (using the Iomega software). It is normally in FAT32.

So he formatted it in NTFS and could no longer use it because he had to use the iomega software in order to use the drive and it only recognized FAT32 drives....

What i want to know is if there is a way he can fix the drive in order for him to store data on it?

If there is any questions please ask.

Thank you!

Well, I tried formatting it and it stopped about 10 minutes into the 'long format'. I plugged it into my pc and it recognizes it but keeps saying 'insert disk into drive G:' when the disk is in and spinning.

I am afraid it is of no use anymore since my pc (or any pc) can read the disk.

Is there anything that I could try to get it to work properly? (maybe even getting the drive to format completely?)

Thanks
