I've been looking for a freeware newsreader for my iPAQ 2210. I tried
Qusnetsoft Newsreader 2.2.0.8, but can't get it to work. After I made
a Bluetooth connection (via ActiveSync) with my PC, I tried
downloading newsgroups, but the program just freezes and I have to do
a soft reset. My ISP's newsserver requires a login and pass for
posting, but not for reading. I tried deleting the login and pass, but
that didn't work either. Also no success with another newsserver that
didn't require a login or pass.

So now I'm looking for other _free_ alternatives. I found Ink Spot,
but that's shareware. Stumbled on A4Pocket Newsreader 2.0, but that's
shareware as well, although one website claimed it to be 'free;
shareware for ever'.

I also found PPCNewz v1.8, but the setup.exe installed something on my
PC, not on my Pocket PC (I'd prefer a *.CAB-file). After that it
showed several CAB-files, but I'm not sure which to install. I know
ARM should do the trick, but the problem is that there are 2 CAB-files
for ARM. 'ARM 720T' and 'ARM 1100'.

Another freeware newsreader I found is Kawara. Anybody knows if that
one is any good? I read there's no threaded view (which is a problem
IMHO). (?)

I had problems with the early versions of the Qusenet news reader also, but with the new 3.1 release
Qusenet works well. I use it on my iPAQ 5555 instead of Ink Spot...

I tried 2.2.0.8 because it's freeware. I noticed 3.1, but the site
states 'FREE 15 days full functional trial'. What happens after 15
days if you don't buy? Which functions will stop working? The site
isn't very clear about that...
