Right now I have a asus premium 2gb ram 4200 cpu and dual 7900gts. I don't like switching in and out of sli to play games (got dual monitors) so I plan on getting a new video card when they come out in a couple months. I was wondering if I would notice a big performance increase if I upgraded my cpu to a fx-60? With the newer video cards would my current cpu be a bottleneck?

Teh FX60 is agreat chip. It will be hard pressed to bottleneck with regualr use. a 4200+ will actually do pretty well, but one 7900GT can power two monitors. DO you have each monitor in a GPU?
You should be able to hook the monitors up to one card. That's what I'm doing with my 7800GT.

Well, I have an Opteron 175, which is similar to your X2-4200 minus 2x512K cache... and mine overclocks 24/7 to 2.64GHz which is actually a bit faster than a stock FX-60 since I am running memory asynchronous and have a 1200MHz HT and using a 12x divider...
So you could overclock your CPU and achieve or come close to FX-60 performance without buying a new CPU...

I agree; overclock what you've got before you drop 10 Benjamins on a single CPU. You have a good CPU right now; wait a couple years before uprading it.
