120 gb raid 0 vs 80 g 7200rpm performance urgent help

Hey. Ive just been nfiguring a alienware M7700 on the uk site and have come to one last descision 120 5400 rpm raid 0 or 80gb 7200 rpm.

What i'm worried about is that the 2 5400 wont out perform the 7200 and will reduce performance in games. My buget is really tight i cant have both.

Also with raid 0 can you get better performance with the larger storage.

Hears how i configured it.

x2 3800

1gb ram

1920 x 1200 screen

go 7900gtx

Thanks

    Hello

I sugget you wait until conroe is out. The cpu you choose is very weak by now. You can get a better processor at the same price or less if you can wait a month or so. I would go with 7200 rpm hd. I like raid 0 but it is not worth it to raid two 5400 rpm hds.

I highly suggest you wait for a few months.

    Thura.
  2. I thought the x2 3800 was pretty good. maybe not quiet as good as conroe but enough for all todays games and some decent multitasking. The reason i am lookingat the m7700 is because its paticually cheap at hte moment and i think if they introduce cronroe into it the price ill go back up... then no 7900gtx.

    Thanks
