Yeah that looks good, as a $150 budget doesn't leave a lot of good choices. :?

Unless, of course, you're buying an Asus motherboard...not everybody seems to realize this, but OCZ does not work in an Asus motherboard.

If you want Asus, get Corsair. OCZ is safe pretty much everywhere else, though .

I was under the impression that the OCZ RAM worked, if you set the timings in BIOS manually. :?

I was hoping for 2 gigs. What if price limit is around $170. Thanks. (mobo = GIGABYTE GA-965P-DQ6 hopefully)

This looks like the closest you're gonna get...$190 2x1GB G.Skill.

As attested to by the reviewers, this RAM only works on an Intel system with an Intel chipset. So, if you decide to go AMD, or for a different chipset on your Conroe Mobo, then you're outta luck. All the other 2GB DDR2-800 kits are well over $200. GL :)

If I recall correctly, the PCBs can be reset to an AMD platform. Why don't you contact G.Skill and ask?

OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2-800

That's the RAM I bought for my AM2 system. Great stuff, super fast.

I thought that the OCZ problem with Asus was on the AM2 socket only... I've got OCZ working fine on my 939 board and I'm not sure that anyone has had a chance to test the new 775 conroe boards with OCZ...

OCZ DDR2 ram and AM2 based boards don't play nice together. OCZ DDR2 works fine on LGA775, and their DDR1 ram works fine on socket 478, 939.... etc.
