You need to add more specifics... especially how much you are willing to pay... if you don't have a budget then get the PC P&C 510w psu for $225.

stupid questions deserve stupid answers

God you really must be stupid... You should change your name to TheStupidFather....

First you can't even spell stupid

Second you say no cost is involved then list a cost of $100

Third like it has already been suggested, there are so many recommendations on these forums and others that are in the 550w range that you really are TheStupidFather if you can't find them.

BTW, I find that if you have to resort to swearing when you are wrong it's the sign of a juvenile mind.

Why are you insulting Pengwin? He gave you a link with a PSU that might suit you. So, it doesn't matter if someone helps you or not, you'll just insult him/her.
That's not right.
And it's not right either to expect anybody else to do the job for you. You can't come here and say: "Hey, I want a PSU. Give me one". I think no one feels comfortable with orders, do you?

I'm just waiting for Pengwins response.......

P.S. I don't think he liked being called "poor", better than me calling him stupid but oh well...

ok, If you're going to insult me please do it correctly, atleast spell the F word right, like this

Quote :

KISS MY FU*KING ASS, B*TCH

second. Im sure your "ass" is smelly and disgusting, so I will take a rain check on the kissing part.

thrid, I'm not a female, a dog, or pregnant. so the B word doesnt pretain to me.

Next time you insult someone make it a decent flame. typing random curse words that pop up in your puny head make you look like a 9 year old who has seen 5 minutes of The Sopranos.

All the Godfather does is troll when things don't go his way. Guy has a tendency to cause shit in half his threads, and most of the time he asks questions he's just looking for the answer that fits the mindset he already has.

There are a lot of 500Watt PSU's, I'd suggest an Antec Truepower 550Watt from NewEgg for ~$80, I've got one that works great.

I'd suggest not being such a dick to people who are nice enough to throw in some advice that could save you a lot of money and hassle.

for that price you cant go wrong with an antec truepower 2.0 with 480watts

So why exactly are you posting here? The point of a forum like this is for people to freely share knowledge. If you don't agree with what's going on here then don't post. Forget about the site and don't come back. I'm sure that no one will mind.
BTW... cursing in a thread is kinda pointless. You have to make a mental decision to do it and it sorta looses its emphasis and becomes lame. Its like: "Ooh! I'm going to show everyone that I'm a badass and say a naughty word."

Pinecone up his a$$ (makes sitting in front of his compy uncomfy)

i agree with ya bluntside. i build a compys in my spare time and i put antecs in all of them. frankly i have never heard of an antec dying in the town i live in and i know quite a few computer junkies.

cant go wrong with antec.

my compy is an exeption to the rule with my hyper 580. :D

I would whole heartedly recommend the Magnum XG. It's very conservatively rated at 500 watts, and within the last year, the price has fallen from around $140 to around $100 ($110 retail). I bought one last year after breaking 3 power supplies in 5 years, and I think it's great.

It has a lifetime warrenty; very quiet (only 1 low rpm fan burried in the middle of the psu); large amounts of passive cooling; and an LCD readout of temperature, power usage, and voltage on the 12v line. The most impressive feat it pulled off was when a couple of my Cheetah 15k drives failed (wouldn't spin up). If I had either of them plugged in, the power meter wouldn't drop below 999w. It ran my computer for 20+ minutes without failing, and with both hard drives plugged in.

The only downside is it's size. It uses a heat pipe and radiator that sticks out of the back of the case (you might need to modify the opening in the back for the power supply so it fits). It is also longer (extends closer to the front of my case) than any other power supply I've owned by probably an inch or two, so it was a tight squeeze to run cables between it and a couple of hard drives in my 5.25" slots. If you have a newer, larger, nicer case, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem, but my I have a cheap full-tower from '98 so it's not all that large from front to back. You can probably find the size on Google to make sure it fits fine. I eventually extended mine out of the back of the case so I could fit a bay for 3.5" drives in front of it.

I suggest you go to your local Comp USA or other vender and ask the knowlegable sales team. They'll stear you in the right direction with curtious and honest advice.

Reply to SciPunk

i would think comp usa is better than my local fry's, cuz ive overheard a few conversations there that made me raise an eyebrow. not everyone that works in those stores has good advise. some of the employees are just looking for a good comission.

if you are wondering, no im not an optimist. :P

Seasonic S12 are very good. Be sure to check they are properly installed though: plug it in, turn it on, unscrew the top panel and have a good poke around inside with your bare fingers.

[bake me a cake with a file guys and when I get done for manslaughter]
