I have a Canon i550 on a Jetdirect port 175x and the status monitor
does not want to work on Windows XP and 2000. I had a Windows 98se
machine and despite the printer being on the jetdirect port, it could
still see how much ink was left - etc. Now that they're all on
Windows 2000 and XP I've got nothing. I disabled it for now to
prevent error messages, but still people can't tell when a color
cartridge has to be replaced until they look at their print job.
Is it possible to get the status monitor to work? It is a standard
tcp/ip port
