Looking for some feedback on how it looks. I'm one of the few who liked the Q2 SP and hear Q4 will be similar.

Have you seen the seeder to leecher ratio on that bad boy on the torrent sites? I've never seen anything like it before.

I might pick it up tomorrow. I'm kind of disappointed though now that I've seen more screenshots. They brought back dm17!? WTF!? Seriously that map was ok for like a week when only the demo was out. But jesus christ, 6 years later and all they come up with is slap on a couple new textures? I know I've heard everywhere that the multiplayer feels like q3, but I didn't think that ment the same maps too, sigh.

Funny, unlike D3 this thing came out with no hype. Also unlike D3 it seems to be getting better reviews from us players. I'm hearing the first couple of levels are Doom - like dark, but it changes after that.

I gotta hunt some benchies or feedback on playablity for my rig (6800GT). So far everybody raving about how smooth it is has X2 chip with a 7800GTX

I didn't like Q3 at all so it better not be like that.

some...okay MANY people had issues on the second install disc. pak003.pk4 seemed to be corrupt on quite a few. It was probably a bad batch. there were a crapload of fixes thatMAY work, but none worked for me so I have to take it back. The fixes included changing the dma settings on your cd drive. reinstalled install shield only to a certain version number. disabling all programs while isntalling (yeah I know, newb stuff). restarting pc. changing to 800x600 at 32 bit . holding left shift when enternig in new cd's to disable the autoplay splash screen that froze some computers. I mean it was ridiculous.. hopefully EB has a dvd version. I have heard those always work.

that's bs, no one should ever even consider marketing something that won't even work...big mistake on raven and id.
I actually had problems loading up FEAR too, and i was about ready to send them a death threat. Don't sell buggy [-peep-]!

I got it but haven't installed it yet. Though right from the get go I see an oddity. What I'm assuming is "DISC 4" is actually labeled as "DISC 2" on the cd itself. So there are 2 "DISC 2" cds. This might cause confusion for some, especially if you get them mixed up.

that doesn't sound like id's fault. more like the cd manufacturers eh?

It's the publisher's fault for not checking it, or inadequate QA procedures.

Quake 4 is using the D3 engine so its practially like Doom 3 but with the lights on. By doing so, it is a little better in the eye-candy than Doom 3 but will also tax your vga card a little more and use little more ram.

I loved the SP but the MP is just Quake 3 with the D3 engine. Also there are no bots.

Thanks man! Sounds good. I don't do MP anyway. No BB at the house.

It's Raven's fault.
