I am currently looking for a PSU that will run my setup with ease and still look flashy while doing it. I REALLY want a modulated PSU so that has already been decided. I am looking to spend around $70, thats really all I can afford.

MODULAR

Are you going to put a CPU in that? Let me guess, core2duo right?

I don't think you'll need more than 450W and I'll tell you right now that if you can find a modular psu for under $70 it's either crap or the best deal ever (well not ever... but really really good)

Check out this one.

Not modular but good brand. The next one is the cheapest modular psu I could find but I don't think it's a very good one.

If you could afford just a little more then one of these two.

I'm sure pengwin will be on later to agree with the Antec NeoHE 550W.

not Core 2 comatiable.

u'll need to update bios.

Abit will be making an AW9 which is core 2 compatiable.

anyways

hehe, Antec Smartpower 500w. Modular. better than that POS (piece of spit :D ) Rosewill.

When will it be compatible, im not gonna be buying all this for about another 2 - 3 weeks. Also, is there a "pretty" PSU thats good and modulated that you know of?

EDIT: Oh I found this one and I fell in love with it right away. Can I get you guys take on it? http://xoxide.com/ultra-x-connect2-uvblue.html

Close... This OCZ is just $10 more and although it has just one 12V rail, it's real solid. My son is using one in his Opty/1900XT rig and OCing doesn't overload the unit.

That's over your price limit... and I don't like Ultra psu's... in reality "functional" and "reliable" are better than "pretty" but that is up to you. You may end up with a very "pretty" paper weight though.

usually flashy things arent good, flashy for a reason. its a gimmick. if you have friends who kno hardware they know that something with LED usually isnt good vs something w/o

anyways

the mobo. it will prolly never be compatiable. if Abit makes a new mobo then why would they make their old one compatiable. everyone would buyt the older cheaper one.

I'd recommend the Intel 975XBX motherboard

Zip Zoom is cheaper.

anyways. Ultra PSU's are decent. they arent good, but they do make nice paper weights tho.

Sorry I mean't to ask if there was any for around $170. Also, im not real worried about if its great or not I can always get a better one. I've been running on POS power supplies for awhile and it hasn't failed me yet ;) Im real big into looks thats why I was looking at that one. I mean honestly, how bad could a CPU need? I don't really need 550W and if it goes out then I will buy the better one. Am I wrong in my thinking? Also, im the one everyone goes to about Hardware lol so I have no friends that could help me except you guys and I must say your doing a hell of a job. Thanks!!
