Our source claims they saw an 80% average increase going from two to four cores, but exact testing methodology was not disclosed. Whether or not this carries over to current games is the hot topic of the moment, none of these benches were gaming benches.
Well, let's hope they leave the platform open for Athlon X2's also.

OOOO.... i think 9-inch just got owned, once again.
back to topic, i really question INQ's credibility on this one. So far, they've provided no links to benchmarks.
heck i can even write to INQ, telling them how K8L outperforms Conroe by 200%, and they'll post it, stating that i'm the "reliable source".

Hahahaha ohhh when will people realize that the Inquirer is just like the Sun News of the internet its fun to read and maybe 10% of it is true but I wouldnt call it a reliable source for anything more then a good chuckle
Non FX chips wont run on 4x4 idiot ... they dont have enough cHT links.
Dual Woodcrests cost the same as 4x4 and will be MUCH faster and use half the power
FX's don't have enough either idiot. Doesn't mean future FX's (-64) won't. Nobody really knows what the 65nm chips will bring to the table besides a die shrink.

Wait, wait --- I want to see realworld benchmarks, at 2540x1892 with 32x AA and 45x AF with HDR and the new secret AMD RHT enabled.
But if you do that, it will be GPU limited and will look like Conroe CPUs are just as fast.

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33081 Why in the name of god would I want information on something I will never even consider buying? Wow, two dual cores win out over a single dual core. Wow, I am so impressed; this makes me want to dump thousands of dollars on something unnecessary.
