SBS is a one server for all you need setup
no adding of any kind of other servers or services
at least that's what I make of it ;-)

You can add additional Domain Controllers but they cannot hold any FSMO
roles. Also the SBS server must be the first server in the Forest.

Thank you, do you mind giving me a summery of the steps to add the 2003 to
the SBS 2000 domain?

Thank you,

Dean

Dean,

You would really want to post this to the Small Business Server news group.
They have all the experts ( like the fabulous M&M girls ).

As far as I know, there should be no problem doing this. You can have as
many Domain Controllers as you want in a SBS environment provided that the
SBS box is the first Domain Controller and that the SBS box holds all five
of the FSMO Roles ( might want to check on this one.... ).

Now, your question is probably about extending the schema ( from WIN2000 to
WIN2003 ) and the potential problem with Exchange 2000 ( the 'mangled
attributes' problem ). Not sure. Would not see why SBS2000 would be any
different than 'normal' WIN2000. But, SBS is a different animal so I would
post in the SBS news group.....just to be safe.

Chriske911,

Sorry, but I must respectfully disagree with you. You can add all types of
different servers to an SBS environment ( well, except for another SBS
box! ).

Just like any other situation.....

You are simply adding an additional Domain Controller to an existing Domain.

Just make sure that the schema has been extended properly....like I
mentioned in my other post.

And you really want to post this to the SBS news group.
