I'm building a new custom computer, and Opterons have caught my eye.
1) They're cheap
2) Very overclockable
So, I've actually considered buying one over a Athlon 64 X2. While they aren't dual core, they seem to be capable of reaching high speeds and they have a large cache. What do you think?

Dangit, the dual cores start at too high of a price for me. I'd rather get the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ I was planning on getting. But, I have a question. How much more powerful is one or the other when comparing a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz HT 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor and an AMD Opteron 165, 170, or 175? The Opteron 165 is a little more expensive, I'd like to know the difference/why.
