Im starting to wonder if the 800 XL was a waste of money. I cant get the FPS above 85 in an OLD game. When my clan mates that the reviews say have card equal to the amount of power 800 has have 300 + fps. They dont have to overclock nor should I

Have you installed the lastest drivers? Do you have a decent amount of RAM? What is your processor? All of these are vital to getting optimal proformance in games.

Have you disabled vSynch? If not, your framerates are limited to your monitor's refresh rate... and 85 sounds about right.

You could have thing hogging up RAM, like unwanted "stuff", or you're running background tasks.

85Hz is your refresh rate.
You have "V-Sync" enabled in game, or in drivers, or both.

Ipso Facto: You can not ever have a frame rate higher than 85.

Disable V-Sync in both game and drivers.
