I have been reading quite a few Core 2 Duo reviews, but not ones that included the X2's and the Pentium D's. I came across this great round up and some very nice performance-per-watt, performance-per-gigahertz, and performance-price ratio graphs which should help some buyers on what processor they should get.
Contemporary Dual-Core Desktop Processor Shootout
This next picture shows the average performance, and I arrange it somewhat like this:
FX-62 <= E6600
X2 5000+ = E6400
4600+ >= E6300
4200+ <= E6300
These are pretty close match-ups, I think, in overall performance.
Just a head's up on a great review!
