Hello all,
2 win2k ad domains. wins not installed in domain1.com, so have pointed the
DC for that domain to our wins server and rebooted, also have each domains
dns zones as the others secondary.
domain1.com mixed mode domain - is a new customer and has had dns incorrctly
comfigured (for a while i assume) as was pointed to towards the isp on the
NIC. Changed that now, cannot create a trust to our main domain
(domain2.com) though. when i attempt to trust domain2, it allows me but
then when i verify the trust it says access is denied st the end of a host
of windows.
domain2.com dns fine and always has been, when trying to create the
'trusted' trust I get the same as aboce, any ideas?
PS I ran dcdiag on domain1's dc and it passed, ran netdiag on domain1's dc
and it gave an error regarding DNS....
DNS Test Failed
[FATAL] file \config\netlogon.dns contains invalid dns entries etc etc

sorted,
the domain1.com dc cannot see one of domain2.com's dc's that holds the fsmo
roles, transfered them to our main site that it can see, and the trusts are
now working fine. hope this helps someone else out!

Sorted, was zone alarm on the machines I used, there was no subnet setup in
the firewall options for the domain I was attempting to browse.
