We have two servers set up on our network, one is the domain controller with
exchange 2000 on it and running Windows 2000. The second server is just a
member of the domain, designated to a specific application we use and it's
running Windows 2003. On the DC we login as administrator with a strong
password. On the second server we log in as the local Admin of that machine
with a strong password also. We want to add the local Admin of our second
server to the Domain Admins on the DC so that when we are logged in on the
second server we have permissions accross the domain. We need this for our
backup software. Can anyone please advise. When we try to add the
\\server02\administrator to the domain admins on the DC it gives us errors.

thanks!!

You can't add a local user or local group to a domain global group.

You will need to create a domain account and place it in the domain admins
global group and then logon to the domain with this domain account.
