Hello, I just bought 2 widescreen monitors for my office. One for my assistant (Viewsonic VA1912wb) and for me a (Viewsonic vx2025wm). Both of our computers have an onboard video card - s3 Savage Pro (kicks ass) lol, joking.

Anyways, I need to buy a cheap AGP video card that is DVI and can display a resolution of 1440 x 900 and 1680 x 1050. I dont need a video card for gaming, because I dont play games at work.

Will this video card below work? eVGA geforce FX5500

How can you tell what cheap video cards can display widescreen monitors?

That should be fine for either resolution.

Yes, that graphics card should be able to run that resolution in 2D with no problem. At that resolution you can even get a much lower end graphics card that are in the $20 price range and still be able to run that resolution normally.
