What do you guys think, should I try upgrading or just go all out and get an E6600, 2gb of 800MHz RAM and a 7950? Would it be in my best interest to wait as long as possible?

I would say buy because the MB probably wouldnt support PCI chips, and if you plan on upgrading that would be the way to go, the processor isnt that bad but if you plan on using programs like games or 3d stuff youll want a new one, i would say go dual-core to be future proof. The ram also isnt bad but its probably the minimum you should have for any memory intensive programs, like games or 3d stuff. I would say 1 or 2 GB. And with your signature computer, you should definatly be set for anything. With all the upgrades, your practicly buying a new one already. You should buy sig pc.

So there's nothing absolutely huge around the corner worth waiting for besides DX10 now we're at Conroe?

Which also begs the question - Cheap card now & DX10 when it arrives, or a 7950 now?

7600GT now- DX10 card when they come out is my vote.

If you can afford it, and you want good gaming performance right away, get a 7900GT. I would say get a 7600GT now and wait for the DX10 cards to arrive.

Agreed. And I support the votes for Core 2.
