So I have a new HP 8600 Pro Plus printer and was able to set it up with the included drivers on an old Dlink router. After upgrading to a Netgear N600 DB, I am no longer able to connect to the printer wirelessly. Using the included setup utility from HP and a USB connection to transfer wireless configurations to the printer, I am greeted with a "Configuration successful!" screen. But upon unplugging the USB when prompted, I am informed the device is no longer able to connect.
I thought this an issue with the router, so I tried a Belkin N600 DB which allowed for successful connection to the printer from the iMac. All seemed well - I was even able to wirelessly print an alignment test page from the iMac to the printer. But when I open any sort of application to print (Word, Excel, even web printouts), it simply adds to the print queue with the status "Printing." No errors, no indication of any progress. The print properties window also indicates I am connected to the printer using "macaddress.local" with the 'macadress' being that of the physical printer. I simply cannot print. I tried reinstalling the latest drivers from HP, still same result. The printer shows up properly in the Devices tab. I can view and change any settings from the computer wirelessly, but am unable to print.
So again, things I have tried..
Resetting old router to default settings - no change.
New router - solved connection issues.
Installed updated drivers- no change.
