Dual booting issue

I have windows 8 ios burnt to a usb, got everything partitioned and such, changed the bios for my computer so that itll load all my usb stuff first. However when I plug in my usb, restart my computer and try booting off my usb it still goes stright to windows 7 as if I didn't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

-depends, a copy of windows 8 ISO on USB thumb is not the same as having a bootable USB with windows 8 on it. that is if you just copied a ISO to a thumb drive it will not boot, you want to use the installer to build the USB drive image or build it yourself.
- if you did it correctly, sometimes some of the secondary USB ports are not active until the drivers are loaded. if that is the case, try a USB port on the back of the machine.
