Compatibility of future AMD

Im thinking about getting an Intel MB in addition to my AM2 MB. This way it dosent matter who comes out with the better processor, I can still get it. The only problem is I was wondering how long my AMD MB will last me before i need a new one. Will it support the quad cores or will they be a different thing.

Quads will come out on the same socket you've got now. AM2 should be good for 2 years or more, especially if they do as they've said and the AM3 chips will slot right into an AM2 board.
