okay, I am getting annoyed as hell. I have one of the new sony vaio VGN-S580P laptops. It has the Intel 915GM series video card( guess my work didnt want to splurge for the nvidia chipset). Anyway I am trying to use a triple monitor setup. This would be done with my laptop screen in the middle, and two monitors, one on each side. I bought a compusa USB 2.0 SVGA Adapter and have installed everything correctly. No matter what I do I cannot get the monitor to come up using the adapter. The tray icon for the adapter comes up and shows the adapter options greyed out. This means that windows is for some reason blocking its use. I read in the adapter manual that some graphics software will block the adapter. THis laptop comes with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator and it basically does the same shit I can do through windows graphics settings. I have a hunch that this program is the reason it will not work. Unfortunately I cannot uninstall it because it seems inbedded with the driver (tried it and it reinstalled automatically on reboot). In short i want to get rid of the accelerator and use only the driver .INF file (like the good old days.) Do any of you know any complications with this and how I might want to approach getting this thing working. Thanks in advance
