Mixing DDR2-533 and DDR2-800 modules

Hi.

I am evaluating purchasing an Asus M2N-E motherboard and two DIMMs of DDR2-533 memory. If I were to later add two DDR2-800 DIMMs, will these be limited to operate at DDR2-533 frequencies as well?

Almost certainly, buy 800 now, it isn't that much more expensive and you won't need to worry about this later.

Yes, the DDR2-800 sticks will slow down from 400Mhz, to 266Mhz in this configuration. When you get the DDR2-800 set, get 2 1GB sticks and remove the set of 533 sticks.
