The v1000 has the psu in a weird place, i want to be sure the psu i get will fit in the case without a problem. Can anybody out there confirm that a Hiper Type R will fit in this case? Also, is there anything negative about the Type R i should know about before i purchase it?

Modular PSUs tend to be a bit bigger, and the v1000 is a bottom PSU mount case. You might end up intruding on 3 of your 3.5" drive bays only leaving you 3 bays to work with, which is fine as long as you only plan on 3 3.5" drives.

The hiper website lists the Type R as being 150x140x85mm which is at or below atx spec, so yeah you'll be fine.

No, it won't fit. You have about 2cm clearance between the PSU and the barrier. The modular connections don't line up with the hole through it, and stick out too far before they can be flexed. To use that PSU, you'll have to remove the barrier and one of the hard drive cages. For modular or oversized PSUs, you're better off getting the PC-V1200.

I personally have a Seasonic 600W with my PC-V1000+

I can post photos soon if you want.

So you're telling me those large, solid metal connectors for the wires have zero length? You've revolutionised physics!
