Basically place the folder anywhere you want, doubleclick on craftyx.exe, type the word bench, and hit enter. Let it run for about a minute until it finishes, and then copy & paste here. Also, post what CPU you have, and whether it is overclocked or not.

Here's mine, on a Pentium 4 Prescott 3.2ghz 90nm:
Running benchmark. . .
......
Total nodes: 80680468
Raw nodes per second: 1105211
Total elapsed time: 73
SMP time-to-ply measurement: 8.767123

total nodes - 80680468
raw nodes / sec - 1680843
total elapsed time - 48
smt time-to-ply measurement - 13.333333

754 A64 3700+ stock with C&Q on and 1 stick of RAM.

Oh BTW I ran it the first time with avast, windows defender, msn messenger, and about 6 torrents running and it was 1 second slower.

Easy bench to install and run.

PS. I wonder why mine ran 2 nodes more?

Um... is this good or bad? I'd except its bad since it's a laptop.

I wonder why you linked to an unofficial file that is over two years old, Here are the latest files straight from the author.

I find it suspicious that no information about "craftyx.exe" can be found, do you mind explaining where it comes from ?

For a fair comparaison, this is my score running the file that you linked to :

unable to open book file [./book.bin].
book is disabled
unable to open book file [./books.bin].
ERROR "mt=2 " is unknown rc-file option
hash table memory = 24M bytes.
pawn hash table memory = 6M bytes.

This is my score running the latest version on two thread (manually enter mt=2 in crafty.rc if you got a Dual Core or above) :

Initializing multiple threads.
System is SMP, not NUMA.

unable to open book file [./book.bin].

It's the benchmark we use at CEGT to determine what time controls to use in our engine testing: http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/

We don't use the newer Crafty versions because it's harder to differentiate performance with them.

Would you mind linking to the SMP capable version of the 19.17 release (or at least one which would make use of the mt=2 flag) ? I tried to look for it but all I got is a bunch of dead links...
