I'm still waiting for the AMD price drops. I thought they were today.

When's it going to happen? How long will it take for the lower prices to actually filter down to the retailers like scrambled eggs, I mean newegg?

I even checked pricewatch and no soap on lower AMD prices yet.

Am I being too impatient?

I need my, I need my, I need my A M Dee......

I'll just go take a valium.

Hate to burst your bubble, but there are more e-tailers out there other than just Newegg.com.

But most of them aren't as reliable as Newegg.

And it is alittle odd that they haven't dropped their prices as of yet. Hmm I smell a conspiracy...quick someone call caption planet, he'll know what to do.

Thanks. Bubble burst,......

Ah yes, as so I've learned. Mwave is looking pretty good. And I do shop and research other vendors, but the egg seems very well done (no pun intended).

Well lets see, I have an inventory of processors I bought at the old prices lets say 1000... if I cut my price now I lose $xxx per processor. Companies like newegg are going to have to drop their prices gradually as the avergae price of processors in inventory decreases in order to ensure they make a profit until they clear out the pre-price cut processors.

Newegg was fun and all until Tennessee decided to stick it to e-tailers who have some sort of ops in the state and then they have to charge the Tennessee sales tax. Can you say 9.25%?!? Dang newegg, couldn't you have put the ops on the other side of the Mississippi River?

The sales tax alone will put Newegg more expensive than most of the other major players.

I'm pretty picky about my e-tailers too. As far as I can tell though NewEgg seems to be the only ones that haven't dropped their prices. *shrug*

I went to Fry's Electronics in North Phoenix today and while they did drop their prices, not as much as online retailers have. $200 for an X2 3800+ and $300 for a 4600+. Seems to be about $50 more than can be found online.

x2-3800 119.00 on sale now and in stock
Sorry, that's a single core 3800+. :(

The X2 3800+ is $162.99, here's the link.

http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=M&Category_Code=amddc

BTW, FRY's has hit the ground running. In the DFW market they are advertising a X2 3800+ (socket AM2) bundled with an ECS C51GM-M MoBo, for $199.98.

I know that most people on here hate ECS MB's, but Newegg sells this for $64 plus $6.67 shipping, so that would make the net CPU price around $130. I only cite this as an example of pricing and not as a recommendation for this MoBo.

I've been running this board for almost two weeks with absolutely no complaints. I'm not really big into OC, but I have my 3800x2 running at 2400mhz since the build. Not a single problem.
