Hi, my current system has a couple of HDD's both of which have Windows XP on them. I put XP on the second HDD by mistake when doing a repair/install.

It didn't bother me so I left it like that.....I just get asked which OS on start up.

However, I have found it useful when I got hit by a virus. I couldn't access the internet on my C drive to get advice on how to resolve the problem. So I used the OS on D drive, accessed the internet ok and sorted my problem out.

My query then, what, if any, would be the downside of putting windows xp on both HDD's of my new build?

Thanks
Colin

I don't see any besides:
having to choose on startup
having to install your programs on each OS, if you need them...
a loss of a few GB's of HDD space

None of those is that big of a deal, at least to me.
