Upgrade question

If I have Windows 7 32-bit Professional and I buy a Windows 7 Professional Upgrade (64-bit), will i be able to upgrade? This is probably a stupid question but everywhere I read it says you need a clean install to go from 32 to 64-bit Windows 7 but I can only get a student discount on the 64-bit upgrade.

Let me know if you need any more clarification or whatever, thanks.

you can still do a clean install when you boot with the disc!

If you already have 32bit professional then you already have everything you need. All of the regular Windows keys work for 32bit or 64bit. That is why when you buy a legit copy of Windows it comes with both versions. Just use the 64bit install that it came with and away you go! No need to buy another copy of Windows.
