Hmm, I'll be honest with you I don't know a great deal about overclocking in general, let alone doing it with a laptop.

I'd have thought that the BIOS will 'cockblock' any attempts by 3rd party software to move in on your CPU for overclocking. To be honest, theres very little software that will do this anyway AFAIK.

I presume that you've already tried changing multipliers / raising FSB etc on your motherboard?

However, for your graphics adapter I'd suggest trying applications such as AtiTool - or just browse over to guru3d.com until you find one that supports your graphics adapter.

Needless to say, though, you will need to be extremely careful about overclocking with the thermal constraints of a laptop. If you do manage a substantial overclock of your CPU and GPU It will also destroy your battery life if you intend to travel with it.

Also, it's well documented that most of the more recent ATI cards do not benefit from overclocking in the way that nVidia GPU's do. I'm not sure if this would apply to your laptop.

i do intend to travel, and ur probly right, i had forgotten about the battery life, if u look at tests here at tomshardware.com the draw of power of most gpus goes a up ton, and there is also the restiction of the power supply that is in the laptop, cuz the highest ive seen is about 140watt due to the fact that they cut back, but the point is none, it is an ati and there probly wouldnt be a point, and ibm did lock the bois so there is no chance but thanks for ur help
