my question is should i get a x2 3800+ for an upgrade or just stick with my 3200+

which core of the 3200+ is it?? u might be able to squeeze an extra 400mhz outta that thing witha decent cooler which would only set you back £20. better than upgrading. save your big bucks for later.

I'm planning to do the same thing.
I have to say that I DO multitask a lot, and, about gaming, it'll be the same performance (basicly, the X2 3800+ is two 3200+ cores, at stock clocks).
Of course, there's always the option of overclocking, both the X2 3800+ and the 3200+.

I'll surely buy a 7600GT the next month. I'm just waiting to sell my 6600GT.
And, by the way, I won't buy that *Biostar*
I'll be buying THIS. Much better. 8)

And, you can do multitasking with a single-core CPU. It's just not real-time multitasking.
