Hi,
I'm about to build a new system with parts from a local store that seems to have quite competitive prices. Do you think this is a good setup for the money:
Intel Pentium D 930: 158€
Gigabyte Ga-8i945p-g: 75€
Xfx 7600 gt: 184€
Antec Sonata II case: 110€ (incl. 450Watt SmartPower 2.0)
1gb DDR2 667 low end: 58€
Maxtor Sata II 200 GB: 75€
I would go for the lowest priced conroe available and the lowest priced mobo that supports it from a decent company just because even if those prices are cheap, its better to plan for the future and pay just a bit more. That computer might only last you another year, while a Conroe should be able to take you for as far as 2 years, maybe more depending on what you do.
One more thing, I recommend 2GB of ram, a lot better in the long run especially if you plan on getting Vista, and is pretty cheap these days.
You can also get a bigger hard drive for that much money, I've seen 500 gig's go for 80 bucks (I'm serious, after MIR), but more common are 400 gig for around 100 (These are all US Dollars, I'm too lazy to convert).
Other than thatn, 450 watt should be fine, might want to get a bigger PSU if you intend on future proofing, but since you are on a budget and I doubt you'll do OC'ing and/or SLI you don't need to worry about it.

believe me, i gave a lot of thought to the cheapest conroe option. unfortunately i'm on a really tight budget though and here in europe the e6300, GA-965P-DS3 and pc6400 ram combination is almost 200$ more. also i need the computer urgently and while it's possible to get prices for conroes in europe no store seems to have them in stock actually.
