I have an Intel P4 3GHz system I build 3 years ago now, highend at the time with 1Gb of RAM and a ATI9800pro graphics card that I upgraded to the Nvidia 6800 ultra when it came out.
I have since then tried to upgrade the memory to 2Gb, but my Asus P4P800 board, does not like 2 x 1gB sticks very much, so i had to abandon.
I love playing games, special titles like BF2, HL2 and eve-online.
Now BF2 and 64 player maps means that I have to turn to the medium graphics settings *shock* and still struggle, since it would like 1.2Gb of ram as well !
eve-online is fine, but I have 3 accounts running at the same time so could do with a little extra power aswell.
I guess I could hang on to x-mas, but is there any signs that DX10 cards will be out then? or am I just haning around waiting for nothing?
I want my next system to have 4Gb of ram to start with, so I dont have the problems of getting the right memory in the future etc.

Is the ASUS board ok, or am I beta testing here?
Will the 4Gb work with XP?
Any suggestion to the performance gain compare with my current system?
