Hello,

I'm thinking of getting a new graphics card but ain't too sure on which one.

Here's my PC specs:

eMachines 790
Penitum 4 2.66GHz
120GB
512MB RAM

Current graphics card: GeForce 4MX 440SE nVidia 64mb AGP with tv out

Limit is about £50 - £60

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Something like a 9800Pro would be a good fit.

If used will do a 9700 PRO/9800 PRO from ebay is an excellent deal.

New, I'm not sure of the prices on your side of the world. Cheap and decent AGP cards are X1600s or 6600 GTs, either would be a huge leap over your current card.

If you can afford it a 7600 GS would be even better.

Ok thanks guys!

I'm looking for the nVidia 7600 GS but can't seem to find the right one. Which MB one am I after?

Reply to Ravster

Yep, that'd do.

Should perform similarly to a 6600 GT/X1600 PRO.

You have an AGP slot.

Any 7600 GS for AGP is the right one.

'MB' doesn't matter.

ON a side note, these cards will speed up GAMES. If you're not into gaming, keep your old videocard... it won't make a difference in anything else...

Ok, I've found these two card at a reasonable price:

AND:

Whats the difference and which one is better?

The 6600GT is better.

Here's some refurbished cards. Check out the two 9800's. The second one is 256mb:

The cheapest X1600Pro I could find was £72:

Here's a 6600GT for £52.95:

Here's a 256mb 6600 for £59:

Those are the best deals I could find.

Out of those I'd go refub 6600 GT.
