Oh yeah.... wait maybe that would be because there isn't much to be gained when you know a company is being sold at a given price... nah that couldn't be it.

"Even though the takeover looks fairly valued, RBC analyst Steve Arthur said there is limited upside to the offer unless competing bids are made for ATI."

(from the article you linked)

"Enough said" indeed.

I took that to mean no one else in the industry wanted to buy ATI, or ATI only wanted to merge with AMD only.

Either way, the RBC has just lowered ATI consumer confidence level. And until ATI/AMD shows and prove, things mount up from here (higher IRR, lower debt rating and increased interest rates/borrowing, issuance of more stock). Just a whole bunch of crap to keep ATI afloat until... I sure hope AMD can get that monkey off its back and do something really wonderful with ATI's technology. I would love to have a K8L console that plays all others' console games (XBoX, XBoX360, PS, PS2, PS3, NES, SNES, GameCube, Wii and whatever else is out there).
