Core 2 Conroe update.

Please let us all know when the Core 2 would be avialable today if so and where we can buy one. Also want to see some benchmarks and reviews from gamers and enthusiasts.

Right now I can't find it for sale on e-tailers like Newegg. Please anyone know of Conroe sells don't be afraid to share it to everyone.

Got some more info.

PCClub.com has it but for $100 more than the projected price. Like the E6600 which is suppose to be $315 is priced at $419.99. What's going on here.

Zipzoomfly.com has it as well.

But none yet are on stock.

A bunch of online retailers (including TigerDirect) are supposed to start selling at 3p.m. (eastern). However, they will likely only have the 6800's. You'll probably have to wait until early August to get a 6600 or a 6700. Of course, as already mentioned, you can already get the lower models.

The higher models (when finally available) will probably start out uniformly overpriced due to high demand/low availability.

Anyone got a Conroe yet? What's with all this stores from stopping to sell this new CPU? Still waiting for Newegg though. I guess they want to sell as much X2 and 800 and 900 cpu they want before stocking the Core 2.

Careful buying an OEM cpu from TigerDirect for you have to have to buy a compatible heatsink as well to have a full warranty and return priviledge, to include the Core 2.

Still there's shortage of Conroe everywhere.

I'd wait till august... Right now that isn't far off at all... No use buying OEM, why? You get 1 year warranty, compared to the 3 year warranty of retail from manufacturer. And personally... with the high demand of this launch, and the likelihood that Intel is pushing their Quality Testing to the limit, I'd want the 3 year warranty in case the thing craps out after a year.
