how long are you going to wait is the real question?

if you are buying right now get the amd setup

if you are not then that core 2 duo cheap setup would be great.

I can wait a few weeks. I just wondering what is the best way to minimize spending, and maximize performance. Seems like at $355 that 4800+ is a steal...

If I went with option 3 and got a 6600, would I be able to crank up a lot of settings on Oblivion with my current graphics card (x800 pro with 12 pipes)?

Option 2 definately
-e6300 ($200 most places)
-Abit ab9 ($148)
-OCZ DDR2 800 ($159.50)
-Same 7900GT ($250)
Total cost: about $760

ZZF has that processor in stock for $219, so if you order it soon before it sells out, you should have it within a week.
