Worth upgrading my AMD 3700+ (754) ?

Worth upgrading to a 4400+ ?

I currently run an AMD (754) 3700+ @ 2400mhz. Is it worth upgrading to a 4400+ X2 & new MB ? (I would be able to use my existing 2GB CAS 2 DDR400 memory). I don't have the budget to upgrade MB+CPU+MEMORY - only MB+CPU. I am mainly a gamer and I use photoshop...

Thoughts?

I also have a 3700+ and I'm just going to wait to build a new system a year or two from now. We should get an enormous performance improvement by then with nice prices...

If you want to keep the same gaming performance, you will need at least the 4600+ as the clock speed must stay the same.
But over all if you don't go duel core today, you will must a littel down the road.

I know the upgrade is inevitable. But I think I am good right now. I'll hold out for what the future holds. Maybe Conroe? Maybe AM2, AM3 ?
